Are any of you familiar with (experienced in) using the new "fill by line art detection" option for the bucket fill tool? It's not working the way I expect, and I'm wondering whether I'm not using it correctly, or whether I'm expecting something it's not designed to do. The demos I've seen show the tool filling in a bounded area with color without "coloring outside the lines". (I used to do this all the time years ago with another drawing app that I can't even remember the name of now.) When I try it with GIMP, it will fill some of the bounded area, but not all of it. Is it me or is it the tool? What settings do you recommend?
@enxio27,
It is necessary to adjust the tolerance in "Lineart Detection Threshold" and "Maximum Gap Length". Lower values will expand the area to be filled. - https://youtu.be/AxHb-o9tpoo

Thanks for this! Lowering the "Maximum Gap Length" to 0 did the trick. I can see where a higher value would be useful, though, for filling an area that is almost bounded but the boundary has some small gaps.
