I just skimmed over that forum.wordreference.com.
While that's great on their part, but I think people who speak certain languages will tend only stick to their languages.
Yes, for the most part that will be the case.

For example if I posted on wordreference.com, this same post, in English sub-forum....only English speakers will read them.
Not in the case of this forum, where everyone has the Gimp as their pivot of interest. Just as currently not only English speakers access and read the English posts, nothing will prevent French posts from being read by people of other languages, considering that the forum now has a built-in online translation tool.

With this new tool you have just implemented, native English speakers can access and read the posts in the sub-forums of other languages.

What is done here is in the effort for people of different languages to merge... so if I make this post, and if someone viewed the forum in French, they'll see this post too.
What is done here is to make it easier to read, to avoid the need for ctrl-c + Ctrl-v on online translation sites.
But the difficulty of expressing yourself in your own language will still remain.

Hospending multi-languages in the same forum can be in the long run:
►A leverage for forum exposure. More visits, more views, etc.
►Make the forum a reference among multi-language users. A Gimp portal.

Nothing is easy at first, but the idea deserves to be evaluated calmly, weighing up the pros and cons. Perhaps at first only two or three languages could serve as an experiment.
